Opportunity Analysis: Group Retirement Plans

Jason Roberts
Retirement Law Group

Recorded on Wednesday, November 17, 2021

Group plans, including MEPs, PEPs, GoPs, and ARPs, are beginning to proliferate in the small and mid-markets. State (and potentially federal) mandates are expected to continue to fuel demand for start-up plans that are often otherwise unprofitable from a service provider perspective. Group plans can deliver scale, but they are complex and come with pros and cons that are unique to each service provider’s strategy. Jason C. Roberts will provide an overview of these challenges and opportunities and highlight important considerations for recordkeepers, TPAs, and consultants/advisors to develop profitable and sustainable group plan solutions.

At the conclusion of the presentation, attendees will be able to

  • articulate the legal differences between various types of group plans
  • understand the pros and cons of different arrangements within each type
  • help clients and prospects understand what types of group plans are available and best fit their needs and objectives
