Welcome to the Portland Chapter of Western Pension & Benefits Council

The Western Pension & Benefits Council Portland Chapter is proud to be celebrating 40 years!

The Western Pension & Benefits Council (WP&BC) was founded in 1954 to address the educational needs of pension specialists. Through the years, WP&BC has expanded its scope to include education opportunities for those with responsibilities in the health and welfare area.

WP&BC is a 501(c)(6) tax exempt educational organization with a Governing Board consisting of all Chapter Presidents and an Executive Committee appointed from its ranks. The world of employee benefits is constantly changing. Today, more than ever, you need the tools and resources to effectively manage your responsibilities as a benefits professional. WP&BC is recognized as one of the premier educational and professional organizations in the western United States in the dynamic field of employee benefits.

The Portland Chapter offers:

  • regular educational seminars that provide continuing education credits through our professional accreditation partners;
  • networking and social events to help you stay connected to colleagues;
  • periodic discounts on educational offerings from our partners; and
  • an annual spring conference where you can expand your knowledge, share your ideas, and learn alongside other benefits professionals.
Join us and become part of a larger network of dynamic professionals in our industry.

Chapter Announcements:

On behalf of the WP&BC Portland Chapter Board of Directors, our hearts go out to all those impacted or affected by COVID-19.  We have been actively monitoring the situation as well as the guidelines provided by the CDC and public officials.

To do our part in slowing the spread of the virus, the Board has decided to cancel our Spring Conference that was scheduled for May 21, 2020.  We are looking forward to our Spring Conference in 2021.  Please stay tuned for more information.  Additionally, we have canceled our 40th Anniversary Spring Social that was planned for April 21, 2020.

As we move forward, we will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19 in our community closely.  We are committed to the health and safety of our members and industry colleagues, and we would like to extend our sincere appreciation for your continued support and patience during this challenging time.
